The main French daily sporting newspaper “L’Equipe” is reporting that French swim star sprinter Florent Manaudou has sustained an injury to his wrist and has had to pull out of both the FINA World Cup Series in Singapore and the World Military Games in Mungyeong (South Korea).
Manaudou, who won three gold medals at the FINA World Championships in Kazan this summer, was badly expected as a Star of the meet at the Aquatic Centre on October 3rd and 4th for the Singapore session of FINA 2015 World Cup. From there, being a brigadier of French army, he planned to participate at VI Summer World Military Games in Mungyeong in South Korea the following week.
However, the French sprint King was not able to make the journey, as he injured his wrist during a weight lifting session in Marseille.
According to “L’Equipe”, Jacques Favre, France’s National Technical Director, received the news in a phone call from Manaudou’s coach Romain Barnier. However, he did not sound super alarmed, he did say only that Manaudou with his wrist in a splint, will be unable to use his arms for the next two to three weeks.
After Singapore and Mungyeong, Manaudou had planned to compete in an old French town of Compiègne on November 13-15 and at the France’s National Short Course Championships in Angers on November 19-22.
