The Japanese Swimming Federation has announced rosters for major international meeting of the year — the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan.
Twenty-five Japanese swimmers will head to Worlds. Traditionally, men’s part of Japanese team is particularly stronger, where we must focus at several real candidates for gold medals, World season’s leaders. There are Kosuke Hagino, absolute favourite in 200 IM (1.56,30) and 400 m IM (4.08,54), also with a third world’s result in 200 m free (1.45,82), Yasuhiro Koseki with best World’s result in 200 m breast (2.07,77) and Daiya Seto, best season result-holder in 200 fly (1.54,63) and second World’s positions in 20 IM (1.56,82) and 400 IM (4.10,97).
As to Japanese women place in World’s swim rating, today they are rather modest in comparison with masculine results, what, in fact, is absolutely in conformity with Japanese culture. Yet, among Japanese women, it exists also their own deadliness couple! Real strong chances for victories has a tandem of breast’ swimmers, leaders of World season in 200 m Kanako Watanabe (2.20,90) and Rie Kanetou (2.21,90).
