Today the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is expected to announce whether or not Russia will be banned from the Rio Olympic Games-2016, revealing its long term systematic State’s backed doping practice in all sports’ disciplines.
This information is reporting by usually nicely informed British “The Daily Mail” newspaper: IOC suggests that Russia will be banned from the Rio Olympics and even, possibly, the Winter Olympic Games-2018 in Korea.
The newspapwer’s “insider” said the following: “That effectively means expulsion of all Russian Olympians from Rio. But the IOC president Thomas Bach also wants to give consideration to the rights of individuals.” Some Russian athletes, who train abroad away from the so called, Russian sphere of corruption, could “be offered a lifeline to compete in Rio-2016 under a neutral flag.”
There could be the case of Russian athlete Daria Klishina, already received from IAAF OK to start at the Olympic Rio-2016, as well as swim star Yulia Efimova,
to whom FINA’s gave recently its permission to participate at the Olympics.
More information will be reported as it becomes available later today.
